It’s bad enough we live at the other end of California buying overpriced truckloads of water to supplement our reservoir from the Goliath: Metropolitan Water District who themselves sucked Owen Valley dry…now we (David) are going to get taxed for sucking the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta dry. Hmm.
I wonder who’s going to pay for it? Yup. You and me. That’s who. Here are the facts:
- 14 billion price tag for an already broke state
- Twin tunnels will eventually dry up the Delta and all environmental treasures lost forever
- California has hundreds of fault-lines
- Metropolitan Water District continues as a feudal water overlord
Yeah. That’s working for us…and our children’s future.
So what if it’s underneath everybody, it’s right through fault-lines and could suffer catastrophic disasters here in the Golden State which other places with tunneled fresh water doesn’t have. The existing plumbing system is aging…and so am I. So is Brown. I am afraid for us all. I know there are more people and the resources are literally drying up. I can’t see how this will help the Delta. Just the existing waterlords and the agriculture families who get 80% of fresh drinking water. I also know they get an agricultural discount we civilians don’t. WTF?!!
God help us.
