I loved <a href=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/film\/james-bond-spectre\/review\/\" target=\"_blank\">SPECTRE<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-665\" href=\"http:\/\/jeanneferris.com\/LatestNews\/archives\/664\/spectre\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-665\" title=\"Spectre\" src=\"http:\/\/jeanneferris.com\/LatestNews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Spectre-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/jeanneferris.com\/LatestNews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Spectre-225x300.jpg 225w, http:\/\/jeanneferris.com\/LatestNews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Spectre-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Yes, another Bond movie, another song (Sam Smith is not memorable for me at all as the singer ;-( another steady girlfriend&#8212;wait! What happened to Vesper Lind?<\/p>\n<p>Where have you been? She drowned herself as a traitor to 007. However, (yum, yum) 148 minutes with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0185819\/?\">Daniel Craig <\/a>is waiting for you at the cinema.<\/p>\n<p>Enter, Madeline Swann (<a href=\"http:\/\/leaseydoux.org\" target=\"_blank\">Lea Seydoux<\/a>). A French doctor, no? (so smart and educated too). Just wondering if she graduated at 15 from high school because she didn\u2019t look old enough to have a Phd. Also, turns out, she was the daughter of Mr. White, remember him? He was the one who enslaved Vesper and caused such anguish for our beloved Bond. But wait, there\u2019s more cuz the plot thickens&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>First of all, the opening is one of the most \u201cSPECTRE-acular\u201d ever. EVER. An immense undertaking&#8212;talk about a cast of thousands. Epic. As in <a href=\"www.rottentomatoes.com\/m\/1004330-cleopatra\/?\" target=\"_blank\">Cleopatra.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A few \u201cFirsts\u201d that I noticed were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We got to see Bond\u2019s cool pad&#8212;who knew he lived somewhere?<\/li>\n<li>Dr. Swann told Bond she loved him. Not even Vesper said those three words&#8230;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.007.com\" target=\"_blank\">Daniel Craig <\/a>is listed as one of the producers&#8212;mucho dinero on the back end?<\/li>\n<li>Although, a mere shortchanged 15 minutes on screen, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Monica_Bellucci\" target=\"_blank\">Monica Bellucci <\/a>is an absolute knockout. Who gives a $#@% how old she is? Sexy is as sexy does.<\/li>\n<li>Not really a first, but why do all the bad guys malign the poor reclusive octopus\/kraken\/giant squid as their logo? Eg.: <a href=\"http:\/\/marvel.com\/universe\/Hydra?\" target=\"_blank\">Hydra<\/a> from the <a href=\"http:\/\/marvel.com\/universe\/Hydra?\" target=\"_blank\">Avengers, Marvel Agents of Shield<\/a>, and of course,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/villains.wikia.com\/wiki\/SPECTRE?\" target=\"_blank\">Spectre<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There were some glaring continuity bloopers, but again, I enjoyed every minute of the cinematic glory of SPECTRE at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.angelikafilmcenter.com\" target=\"_blank\">Angelika <\/a>theatre. Even if Craig\u2019s suits looked a tad too small, Guv\u2019ner to be jumping off of the roofs in Mexico City&#8230;I would have preferred his shirts were completely torn off in the process than a single buttoned blazer with a fresh crisp white dress shirt. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>I read every <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ianfleming.com\/?\" target=\"_blank\">Ian Fleming<\/a> book on James Bond, 007 when I was 13 years of age. For me, Craig has depicted the closest portrayal of the character that was penned by Fleming&#8212; even more so than the Scottish Sir\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.seanconnery.com\/?\" target=\"_blank\">Sean Connery<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Bravo <a href=\"www.nytimes.com\/...\/a-family-team-looks-for-james-bonds-next-assignment. html\" target=\"_blank\">Barbara Broccoli<\/a>! Cubby would have been proud how you have brought Bond forward into the new millennium. Or&#8212; maybe, not. He didn\u2019t exactly make the Bond girls&#8212; poster girls for feminism.<\/p>\n<p>Sigh.
